Atlanta Braves vs. Milwaukee Brewers  Baseball betting analysis and odds
July 5th, 2018 Betting on MLB Baseball

Under the leadership of Craig Counsell, the Milwaukee Brewers have risen from the ashes.  Counsell took over a ruined roster in 2015.  Methodically he has nurtured superb young talent into a contender.  The Brewers are fighting with the Chicago Cubs for the NL Central lead.  For the Atlanta Braves this has also been a surprise year.  They were not expected to have much success with baseball betting games. But the rebuild of general manager Alex Anthropoglots is far ahead of schedule.  Like Counsell manager Brian Snitker has developed his young talented roster.  These upstart contenders meet Saturday night!

Atlanta Braves

Atlanta enters this game in a hot race of their own.  They are neck and neck with Philadelphia in the NL East.  The Braves have proven to be an outstanding value in 2018.  Gamblers have found them to be among the most profitable teams on the board.  Atlanta has been reliable in away baseball betting games.  They have a road record of 26-19.  Brian Snitker’s team has won six of their last ten games.  Just four of their last ten games have gone under the total.  Atlanta’s strength is strong offense.  They rank sixth in MLB for run production.

Braves on the Field

Freddie Freeman has been the big bat for the Braves this year.  Freeman is hitting .308 with an OPS of .929.  He has 21 doubles, 16 home runs and 56 runs batted in.  Ozzie Albies has a team high 18 round trippers and 27 doubles.  Closer Arodys Vizcaino has a 1.76 ERA.  His WHIP is 1.14 with 15 saves.  Fellow reliever AJ Minter has a 1.25 WHIP and 2.75 ERA.  His record is 3-1 with four saves.

Milwaukee Brewers

Milwaukee is also a highly profitable sportsbook bet.  The Crew is 27-17 at home.  Just 17 of their home games have gone over the total.  Six wins in their last eight games shows good form.  Milwaukee is a solid power hitting team.  They rank eighth in MLB for home runs.  And are a surprising third for stolen bases.  On the hill the Crew ranks fifth in MLB for ERA.

Brewers  on the Field

Center fielder Jesus Aguilar is having a strong year.  Aguilar is hitting .303 with 19 home runs and 55 RBI.  His OPS is .971.  Travis Shaw is also producing big time for Milwaukee.  He has 19 doubles, 15 home runs and 49 RBI.  Shaw is hitting .244 but has an .816 OPS.  After a rough patch closer Corey Knebel has regained good form.  He has picked up two wins and five saves in his last nine outings.  His ERA has dropped from 4.26 to 3.32.

Starting Pitchers

Right hander Anibal Sanchez is the proable starter for Atlanta.  He is 3-2 with a 2.89 ERA.  Left hander Brent Suter is to take the hill for the Crew.  Suter is 8-5 with a 4.53 ERA.

Matchup to Watch

Milwaukee has won eight of their last 14 baseball betting games vs. Atlanta.  Their hitting and home record are a strong matchup edge.  As is their bullpen.
