Late Night Wednesday Baseball Betting on ESPN as Dodgers Visit the Padres

November 30th, 2010 Betting on MLB Baseball

Did you really think the National League West was going to be a race a few weeks ago and get attention from gamblers in baseball wagering?

It appeared that the San Diego Padres had things wrapped up, but then they went on an amazing losing streak.  Even the Dodgers think they are in the race again and they could be favored in MLB wagering in this ESPN televised game on Wednesday night.

This is the finale of a three-game series between the Dodgers and Padres.  The Dodgers have the pitching edge in this game in baseball odds at Sbgglobal since they will be going with Chad Billingsley while the Padres are going with a rookie.

Billingsley Has Been Money vs. the Padres – The one team that Chad Billingsley loves to pitch against is San Diego.  He is 10-5 with a 2.48 ERA in his career against the Padres.  Billingsley has solid numbers this season as he is 11-8 with a 3.54 ERA.  He is 2-1 with a 2.75 ERA in his last three starts. He has not even allowed a run in two starts this season at PETCO Park in San Diego.

Cory Luebke – If you don’t know Cory Luebke then you are not alone. This is only his second start for San Diego and his first start was not a good one.  He allowed four runs in five innings in his first start.

San Diego Pitching Troubles – The Padres starting rotation has simply come apart at the seams.  The Padres are skipping Wade LeBlanc this time around in the rotation which is why Luebke is getting another start.  The Padres starting pitchers have simply thrown too many innings.  San Diego was expected to be rotten this season. They were not expected to contend and now it is catching up with them.  All of their young pitching stars have thrown too many innings and they are now worn out.

Before this series began the Padres and Dodgers had split their last 20 games.  The last time the teams met in San Diego was in late July and the Padres took two of three from Los Angeles.  Two of those three games went under the total in baseball wagering.
