September 24th, 2020 Betting on MLB Baseball

Baseball Betting on Diamondbacks at Braves Handicapping. The Diamondbacks depart the desert heat of Arizona and travel to “Hotlanta” to begin a three game series versus the Atlanta Braves. Tonight’s first pitch at Turner Field is scheduled for 7:10ET.

Speaking of hot, the DBacks are leaving Chase Field in Phoenix after completing a homestand where they won five of six. Besides the impressive won/lost record they scored 51 runs and had a team batting average of .343 during that stretch,
Before getting too excited however, it must be noted that the last three home victories came at the hands of the lowly Chicago Cubs this past Baseball Betting weekend. They claimed a 6-1 triumph in game one of that series even after their starter, Joe Saunders had to be replaced at the last minute due to problems during his warm up. Then on Saturday, Arizona pounded out 16 hits, barely surpassing the Cubs total of 14, but the Diamondbacks doubled up the Cubbies on runs 10-5.

In the series finale, Sunday, a home run by Alfonso Soriano was the lone run scored by Chicago, as Arizona finished off the sweep 5-1. Arizona is in the middle of the pack of the NL West standings with the third spot and a 37-35 overall record. They trail the first place Dodgers by 5 games in a division race that has become more competitive with L.A.’s recent struggles. The DBacks have won 7 of their last 10 and are 17-18 on the road.

Atlanta is in a division race of their own, chasing Washington for the NL East top spot. The Braves own an overall mark of 38-34 and currently trail the Nationals by 3.5 games. They are 4-6 in the last 10 and just 15-17 at home. They lost the last two of three from the Red Sox to end last week.

Tonight’s pitching matchup is a battle of the Hudsons. Righthander Daniel Hudson (3-1,6.60ERA)will be on the mound for Arizona. He had a tough outing his last time out, yielding 7 runs to the Mariners in only four innings. Another righty, Tim Hudson (5-3,3.88ERA) goes for the Braves. He is 6-0 with a 1.36 earned run average against Arizona in 8 career starts.

The Braves are a home favorite at -$130, while the Diamondbacks are +$120. The moneyline is $115/$100 on the over/under of 8 total runs.
