MLB Betting – Colorado Looks to Rock San Diego Again

November 30th, 2010 Betting on MLB Baseball

The Colorado Rockies just won’t go away in the National League West and they are favored at home on Tuesday night in MLB betting against San Diego.

The Rockies have been a very good home team all season and they are making a serious playoff push. The pitching matchup on Tuesday also favors Colorado which is another reason they are favored in baseball betting at Sbg global.

Pitching Matchup – The pitching matchup for Tuesday could favor the Rockies. Jon Garland gets the call for San Diego and he has been up and down. He is 13-11 on the season with a 3.52 ERA. He is on a three-game losing streak. He allowed three home runs to the Giants in his last start. His control has been poor lately as he has walked at least three in each of his past eight starts. His ERA on the road is 4.04 ERA and he doesn’t figure to shut down the Rockies. And on top of all that he has been terrible in his last three starts going 0-3 with a 6.19 ERA. In his career against the Rockies he is 1-2 with a 3.70 ERA. Jason Hammel doesn’t have a big name but he has a 10-7 record and a 4.34 ERA. He has not lost since mid-August. In his last three starts he is 2-0 with a 4.26 ERA. He is 3-0 in his career against the Padres with a 4.56 ERA.

Colorado’s Big Chance – There is no question this is a huge series for both San Diego and Colorado. It is more critical to the Rockies since they need to make up ground. The Rockies had won 12 of the last 20 against the Padres before this series began. Colorado won two of three back in July at home vs. San Diego. Two of those three games went over the total in baseball betting.

Cargo – You can easily make a case that Colorado outfielder Carlos Gonazalez has been the best player in baseball the past couple of months. He has almost single-handedly gotten the Rockies back in the race. He is even being mentioned for the Triple Crown and league MVP. That is high praise since he is being mentioned with Albert Pujols and Joey Votto. Gonzalez simply does it all and he is fun to watch.
