The Minnesota Twins 2006 online baseball betting season was a dichotomy of emotions, talent and execution. On one hand, the play of the team and its talented roster was superb but, to see it all cut short in the online baseball betting American League Division Series was such a huge waste and a major heartbreak for the people of the Minnesota Twins Cities. And to be swept so unceremoniously in only three games by fair-to-middling team like the Oakland A’s was torture. However, if you subtract that bitter pill from the scenario and focus on the regular online baseball betting season achievements of this highly talented MLB betting team and it was one helluva online baseball betting year for the Twinkies.
There is no doubt that this MLB betting team had much higher hopes in the post season than being swept in the first round but they’ll have to learn form the sour experience and move on if they want to repeat the same regular online baseball betting season success that they had in 2006 again in 2007 online baseball betting season. Looking over the long list of highlights that the Twins had in the 2006 online baseball betting season it’s hard to know where to begin. Chronologically, if you look back the Twins 2006 online baseball betting campaign, they got off to an awful start. Perhaps it was the weather outside their dome or it just took awhile for the team to build chemistry, but these were way off of everyone’s roster until about June. But after June this MLB betting team came alive and no team was hotter or had a better online baseball betting record than the Minnesota Twins from June forward.
Once this MLB betting team was ignited there was nothing that could stop them, aside from the Oakland A’s in the online baseball betting playoffs. That three game sweep was nothing less than a bitter disappointment, to be sure, but it will serve a good learning experience for this very talented and young team. We should expect to see this MLB betting team in the online baseball betting playoffs for several years to come. The foundation of talent is certainly there and the longer they play together and the more experience they gain as a team the better they’ll become. In 2006 online baseball betting season the Minnesota Twins finished as the regular season AL Central Division champs and the second best overall record in the AL with a 96-66 MLB betting record, not bad at all. The team was very solid at home in the dome going 54-27 for a .667 home winning percentage. However outside the dome the team could have been better posting only a very mediocre 42-39 record on the road. But certainly there was nothing to complain about with that online baseball betting record, especially against a tough Central division.
But the team numbers only tell half the story. In terms of player achievements, 2006 online baseball betting season was a banner year, not franchise year, for the Twins. To start with Johan Santana was his second consecutive AL Cy Young award and is without argument the best pitcher in online baseball betting today. He is simply fantastic, he eats up innings, has great control, great power and has poise on the mound that most pitchers only dream of. He proved that in the 2006 online baseball betting season and you can expect plenty more 20 win season from the young ace in the future especially with the fire power the Minnesota Twins have on offense now. But the rest of the Twins rotation did awfully well too, with Brad Radcke having a decent online baseball betting season in his swan song and Francisco Liriano playing great as well. Both of these pitchers will be missed in 2007 online baseball betting season as Radcke hung up his spikes in retirement and Liriano had elbow surgery that will put him out for awhile. But as long as you have a top flight closer like Joe Nathan and a superb set up man in the middle innings like Juan Rincon a lot of mistakes can be erased.
At the plate the Twins were just as exceptional as their pitching. Justin Morneau wrapped up the MVP award putting together one of the best online baseball betting seasons in Twins history batting .321 with 34 homers and 130 RBIs. Hugely impressive numbers by any account but especially for a power starved Twins team that hadn’t had a 30 homer season by a player since 1987 online baseball betting season. But teammates Michael Cuddyer also put up some pop toying with 30 homers as well and center fielder extraordinaire Torii Hunter had a resurgent online baseball betting year hitting 31 homers and knocking 98 runs. And who can forget catcher Joe Mauer’s flirtation with .400 and his batting title won with a .347 average.
