Kentucky Derby Betting – The Top Four Favorites

Kentucky Derby Betting – The Top Four Favorites Horses to Bet.  There are four horses right now with single-digit odds in Kentucky Derby betting. They are Uncle Mo, Dialed In, Nehro and Archarcharch. Here is a look at each of those horses in Kentucky Derby wagering.

Uncle Mo 3.5-1
Until he flopped in the Wood Memorial he was the overwhelming choice to win the Kentucky Derby. He still might be a super horse but he is not going to be the type of favorite in Kentucky Derby wagering that he would have been had he not lost the Wood. The other question is whether or not Uncle Mo can handle the distance. The horse developed a gastrointestinal infection that seemed to affect his performance in the Wood but all indications are that he is nearly back to full strength. He has trained well and trainer Todd Pletcher is confident. There is no question that there is a ton of value on Uncle Mo is he is healthy again.

Dialed In 4-1
He won the Florida Derby by a head and maybe he will go off as the Derby favorite.  He is trained by Nick Zito who knows how to win the Kentucky Derby.  The problem with taking Dialed In is that he really just looks like an average horse and at odds of 4-1 at Sbgglobal there is simply no value.

Nehro 8-1
He is the hot horse around the paddock for the Kentucky Derby and you know what that means don’t you?  It means the horse has virtually no chance to win on Saturday. The hot pick in the Derby almost never wins. He was second in both the Arkansas Derby and the Louisiana Derby and most people believe he will like the added distance of the Derby. He is trained by Steve Asmussen who has had Kentucky Derby success in the past. Based on his credentials this horse should be 20-1 or more so there is not much value in Nehro.

Archarcharch 9-1
He is bred for the distance and his trainer is 70-year old Jinks Fires who will be getting his first Derby starter.  The horse seems out of his league here but this year’s Kentucky Derby betting field looks weak other than Uncle Mo and we already know the questions about him.
