Zurich Classic of New Orleans Golf Betting at SBG Global

November 30th, 2010 Golf Betting

Golf betting odds for the Zurich Classic of New Orleans in late April are expected to feature 10 of the PGA’s Top 20 players.

Two of the hottest players for gamblers who bet on golf are Nick Watney and Sean O’Hair and they are both expected to be in the field. Golf betting odds will also show defending champion Andres Romero on the board. There are a number of top contenders in golf betting odds but Watney should be one of the most popular. He won this event in 2007 for gamblers who bet on golf and has played well all year.

Four members of last year’s winning Ryder Cup team will be on the golf betting board. They are Kenny Perry, Steve Stricker, Boo Weekley and J.B. Holmes. Captain Paul Azinger will also be making an appearance on the golf betting odds board this week.

Other possible contenders to consider as you bet on golf this week are David Toms, former Masters winner Mike Weir and former PGA Champ Rich Beem. One player who is not expected to be part of the golf betting odds this week is Tiger Woods. His schedule is usually set far in advance and New Orleans is not on his list. It was still up in the air whether or not Phil Mickelson would be part of the golf betting field this week.

Gamblers who bet on golf can watch this tournament the first two days on the Golf Channel and then on CBS over the weekend. Last year it was Romero who rewarded golf betting gamblers with a victory. He was able to win by one shot over Peter Lonard. "I played great these last 36 holes," Romero said. "I made just one bogey in 36 holes, and it’s not very common for me to make one bogey in two rounds. But that was the key to being here in contention at this tournament." Last year in golf betting results for the Zurich Classic it was Tim Wilkinson finishing third followed by Padraig Harrington, Woody Austin and Nicholas Thompson.

Golf betting history tells us that this tournament began in 1938 and has been played annually since 1958. New Orleans is the 11th oldest host city on the PGA Tour. The Zurich Classic is played on the TPC Louisiana course. Past golf betting winners in New Orleans include Jack Nicklaus, David Toms, Vijay Singh and Davis Love III.
