December 11th, 2019 Golf Betting

With the PGA Tour and the 2015 Golf Season well underway, this last week of August 2015 brings us the Barclays Golf Tournament that will be played at the Plainfield Country Club in Edison, New Jersey and begins with 1st tee-off on Thursday the 27th of Aug. and continues thru Sunday the 30th of Aug. 2015, with a total purse of some $8,250,000.

With this tournament we know the end of the 2015 season for the PGA Tour is just around the corner, yet this tournament brings together some of the best golfer’s in the world as the players contend for the upcoming leg of the playoffs of the FedEx Cup. If you continue reading we will try to bring you the information as to what you the fans can expect during this golf tournament, “The Barclays.”

Some things you the fans should know about ‘The Barclays 2015.’

The playoff format for the FedEx Cup 1st began back in 2007 as a system to determine the sure winner of a particular PGA Season ending. In this case ‘The Barclays’ is the opening PGA match of the playoffs for the FedEx Cup. This tournament amasses the top 125 golf players determined by the points each player amasses during a season, and that could allow him a shot at a slot in the Tour Championship that is played in September in Atlanta, Georgia.

In this case besides earning additional points for the Cup which will continue to elevate a players rankings in the leaderboard, the 1st 100 points leaders at the end of this tournament, will qualify for the next round of the FedEx eliminations that will take place at the TPC Boston for the Deutsche Bank Championship.

‘The Barclays’ this year for the 1st time is seated at the Plainfield Country Club at a scenic and exciting golf course in the quaint area of New Jersey, know as Edison and a course designed by D. Ross a very notable gold course designer. This course is always included in Golf Course Polls consistently; therefore that is why it has become the best course to be home of ‘The Barclays.’

If you’re not familiar with the name ‘The Barclays’, that’s because this tournament has had some 6 different name since its beginning. From 1967 to 1975 it was known as the Westchester Classic, then the corporations started competing for the rights to the name from companies such as American Express, Buick and Hanover, and they all had a chance a naming this event. The last to barter and now the sponsor is Barclays. Many Golf fans still think of it as the ‘Westchester.’

Back in 2011 the Plainfield C.C. played host to the Barclays and that was an intriguing golf tournament, as Hurricane Irene was close to hitting New Jersey, and the tournament after some 54 hours of play was shortened. Shortly after that announcement the hurricane hit the golf course. That year with the sudden end of the tournament, D. Johnson was the tournaments champion.

Then the golf fans may ask, what is a golf tournament without a Tiger Woods, who has been struggling as of late, but his presence can fill the days with a lot of drama. In 2014 Tiger did not make the cut for ‘The Barclays’ and eventually eliminated completely. To date 2015 has not been good for Woods, but a player who has won the PGA tour some 79 times, still has some life left, and that is if he finishes at least 1st or 2nd at this weeks’ North Carolina’s Wyndham Championship so that he can qualify as one of the top 25 on the PGA Tour in the FedEx rankings. As that tournament progresses it appears that Tiger still has a shot, and if you Bet on Golf at an Offshore Betting site, you must know that Tiger Woods has not had a PGA Tournament win since back in 2013. But there are still plenty of players for wagering fans to bet on!
