Mercedes Championship on Golf Betting at SBG Global

November 30, 2010 Golf

Golf betting for the 2008 season begins at Kapalua, Hawaii with the Mercedes Championship.

Gamblers looking to make a golf bet may find some value in this tournament since Tiger Woods will not be playing. Golf betting experts know that it will be the third consecutive year Woods has skipped the winners-only Mercedes-Benz Championship at Kapalua.  Woods wanted some time off before the new season.  "I enjoy that time off", he said, "Kapalua does a fantastic job, and I’ve played well out there.  I just enjoy the time at home with my family".

Golf betting gamblers should also be aware that Phil Mickelson is also not expected to play.  Gamblers that look to make a golf bet know he has not played at Kapalua since 2001.  British Open champion Padraig Harrington also is skipping the Mercedes according to golf betting experts.  "We’re disappointed that our event will be missing Woods, Mickelson and Harrington", Kapalua Vice President Gary Planos said.  "But there are no guarantees with a field, even when it’s champions only.  The Mercedes-Benz Championship still has 32 great champions playing here, and everyone at Kapalua can’t wait to watch the PGA TOUR on January 3rd".

It is difficult for some players and for some golf betting gamblers since golf really doesn’t have much of an off-season.  "I feel bad for the tournament, bad for the sponsors", said Jim Furyk, "But I’m not upset with a player.  They make decisions where they want to play.  I’m a player, so I’m going to protect the players.  They need to play a schedule they’re comfortable with.  Tiger and Phil play enough that the fans get to see them".  Golf betting gamblers should be aware that the Mercedes Championship will still have a strong field.  Defending champion Vijay Singh will be one of the golf betting favorites.  Another golf betting favorite should be Adam Scott who finished 2nd last year.  Golf betting odds should be very competitive for the opening tournament of the season.

The Mercedes-Benz Championship is the opening event for gamblers looking to make a golf bet.  Golf betting experts know that the field is restricted to golfers who won an event on the PGA Tour in the previous season.  It has been played at the Kapalua Resort’s Plantation Course in Kapalua, Hawaii, since 1999 for gamblers looking to make a golf bet.  Take a look at the golf betting odds for the Mercedes Championship.
