Especially relevant on the Professional Golfers Association calendar each year are the four major tournaments.  Probably more than any other sport professional golf’s major tournaments mean the most.  As a result, “the majors” draw many casual fans to the Golf Betting Lines.  In fact, golf’s major tournaments are like having four Super Bowls per year.  Majors are comprised of the Masters Tournament, the US Open, The Open and the PGA Championship.  Each major will bring drama and unrivaled betting action for 2018.

A Tradition Unlike Any Other

First of all, when thinking about Golf Betting Lines, the Masters Tournament immediately comes to mind.  “A Tradition Unlike Any Other” is an understatement for this event.  Probably no other sporting event of any kind can match the Masters.

Love for Augusta

First of all, Augusta National Golf Club is a venue unlike any other.   Augusta is arguably the most mystical sporting locale on the globe.  Its natural beauty and timeless traditions fly in the face of marketing geeks and gimmicks.  Opposite of the rest of the sporting world, that timelessness is the selling point.

First week of April

In accordance with its heritage the Masters annually takes place the first full week in April.  Hence for 2018 it runs April 5-8.  Sergio Garcia was the surprise winner of the coveted green jacket last year.  Historic Butler Cabin’s ceremony for the winner is must see TV.

Location

Another outstanding tradition is The US Open.  Unlike the Masters Tournament, the US Open is moved to different venues each year.  Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southampton, New York will serve as host this year.  Tradition dictates that the final round of the US Open takes place on Father’s Day.  As a result, it will run this year from June 14-18.  Brooks Koepka is the defending champion of the US Open.

Honored Rituals and a History of Glory

Speaking of tradition, The Open Championship oozes with time honored rituals and a history of glory.  Furthermore, it boasts the famed Claret Jug that is presented to the winner.  Like the US Open, The Open Championship rotates among different golf clubs in Great Britain.  Carnoustie Golf Links in Carnoustie, Scotland will host on July 19-22, 2018.  Superstar sensation Jordan Spieth is the defending champ.

Fourth and Final?

Fourth and final on the majors calendar is the PGA Championship August 9-12, 2018.  Bellerive Country Club in Town and Country, Missouri is the host.  PGA Championship Sportsbook online action also rotates to different golf clubs each year.  Justin Thomas was the 2017 PGA Championship winner.

Matchup to Watch

Seems like the Golf Betting Lines baton has been passed from Tiger Woods to Jordan Spieth.  At just 24 years of age Spieth has already posted three wins in majors.  Of note were 2015 wins at the Masters Tournament and US Open.  And a 2017 win at the Open added to Spieth’s growing reputation.  Dustin Johnson looms as the top challenger and alternative in the post Woods era.   He has led the Official World Golf Ranking for over a year.  Most of all the potential for a rivalry between Johnson and Spieth looms large.

Golf Betting Odds Picks

For the 2018 PGA season Jordan Spieth will be the man to beat at the Majors.  Gamblers like Spieth for his professionalism.  Many grew tired of the hype and scandal surrounding Woods.
