November 30th, 2010 Golf

Golf betting for the 2009 PGA Tour season concludes with the Children’s Miracle Network Classic from November 12th through the 15th.

It is a pressure packed tournament with some golfers trying to make it into the Top 125 on the money list and retain their card. It is also a fun tournament for those that bet on golf at the sports book.

Golf betting has seen a lot of great winners of this event in the past including three wins in a row by the great Jack Nicklaus in the early 1970’s. This will be the 39th anniversary of this golf betting event. Other great golf betting champions in this event include Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Arnold Palmer, Vijay Singh, Payne Stewart and Ernie Els. Last year it was Davis Love III winning in this event. He was one shot clear of Tommy Gainey while Steve Marino and Scott Verplank finished five shots back.

Stephen Ames was the winner in golf betting two years ago while Joe Durant won three years ago in this bet on golf tourney. Lucas Glover was the 2005 golf betting winner while Ryan Palmer won in 2004.

The Children’s Miracle Network Classic takes place at the championship Palm and Magnolia courses at Walt Disney World Resort. The golf betting event has been the last one on the PGA Tour Fall Series the past couple of years. It is a favorite tournament for golfers since it is played in Orlando, Florida where many players have residences.

Last year the purse for this tournament had a total prize purse of $4.6 million with the winner getting $828,000. This golf betting tourney has been in existence since 1971 and most of the time Disney was the sponsor. That changed two years ago when the Children’s Miracle Network took over the sponsorship of this golf betting event. With this being the last golf betting event of the PGA Tour season you can count on a lot of excitement. Some golfers will need a good showing just to make it to next season. That always spices things up as you bet on golf at the sports book.
