Golf Betting – Buick Invitational at SBG Global

November 30th, 2010 Golf Betting

Golf betting on the Buick Invitational has been all about Tiger Woods in recent seasons but unless a major surprise occurs, that will not be the case for the 2009 Buick Invitational.

Woods is still in his recovery process from knee surgery and has said he won’t rush back, even to play in one of his favorite online golf betting events, the Buick Invitational. “I don’t know how it’s going to respond, you know, with repeated practice days and long days of practice trying to get back, and ultimately playing my way into shape,” Woods said, “That’s obviously going to take a little bit of time.”

Golf betting gamblers can probably look for Woods to return for an event or two in Florida as the Masters approaches.  The goal for Woods was always to be ready for the Masters. "That’s always been the intent but as far as reality, that’s two different things," he said.

The Buick Invitational will definitely be a wide open golf betting event without Woods in it.  He has dominated the Buick Invitational in recent golf betting seasons. Last year he won by eight shots.  He finished at 19 under as golf betting stats showed.  It was his fourth straight Buick Invitational title, tying a PGA Tour record for consecutive wins in a single tournament.

Looking for possible contenders in this year’s Buick Invitational should be interesting for golf betting gamblers. Ryuji Imada finished second in golf betting in last year’s tourney behind Woods. Rory Sabbatini and Stewart Cink finished third on the online golf betting leaderboard last year. Justin Leonard finished in fifth as online golf betting numbers show.  Phil Mickelson was never a factor a year ago in online golf betting for this tournament.  The last player other than Woods to win in golf betting in the Buick Invitational was John Daly back in 2004 and Daly will not be playing this year due to his suspension from the Tour.

Possible golf betting contenders for the Buick Invitational other than those previous mentioned include Anthony Kim, Camilo Villegas and Sergio Garcia.

Golf betting for the 2009 Buick Invitational gets underway on Thursday, February 5th and concludes on Sunday, February 8th from Torrey Pines Golf Course in La Jolla, California.  The golf betting tournament will be televised live by the Golf Channel and CBS.
