Dustin Johnson and Rory McIlroy Lead 2019 Masters Betting Odds

Anticipation continues to build for the upcoming Masters Tournament which will take place April 11 through 14, 2019.  Naturally the famed Augusta National Golf Club is a major part of the attraction.  Additionally, the coveted Green Jacket that is presented at historic Butler Cabin at the conclusion of the tournament is another part of Masters tradition.  Patrick Reed was the surprise upset winner at the 2018 Masters Tournament.  Yet Reed is not among the top tier favorites with the 2019 Masters betting odds.  Instead Duston Johnson and Rory McIlroy are the 10/1 co-favorites for the 2019 Masters Tournament.

Names to Consider

Following the co-favorites is Tiger Woods at 12/1, Brooks Koepka 14/1, Jordan Spieth 14/1, Justin Rose 14/1, and Justin Thomas 14/1.  Extending the list is Jon Rahm 16/1, Rickie Fowler 16/1, Bryson DeChambeau 18/1.  And there is Francesco Molinari 25/1, Phil Mickelson 25/1, Tommy Fleetwood 25/1, Bubba Watson at 28/1 and Xander Schauffele 28/1.

Tiger Woods

Namely Tiger Woods looks like a potential sportsbook overlay.  To his credit Woods has climbed from 656th on the Official World Golf Ranking to 13th.  Woods has posted just one solitary win since 2013 when his life began to implode.  Last year Woods scored a win at the TOUR Championship.  In his last 23 events Woods has that win with two second place finishes, four finishes 4-10th, and two missed cuts.

Other Stats on Woods

While Woods has had a remarkable resurgence, he has not yet proved that he is a top tier championship level competitor.  Woods has won the Masters Tournament on four occasions but the last time was 2005.  Further, his last major title was the US Open in 2008.

Dustin Johnson

By contrast, it’s understandable why Dustin Johnson is 2019 Masters Tournament favorite.  Johnson tops the Official World Golf Ranking and has performed effectively so far in 2019.  For example, Johnson has two wins and three finishes between fourth and tenth in seven events played for 2019.  Although he failed to win THE PLAYERS, he did place an impressive fifth.  Johnson has only one major win for is career at the US Open in 2016.  Yet it is his consistency that makes him a favorite with the 2019 Masters betting odds.  Johnson was 2016 PGA Tour Player of the Year.

Justin Rose

Justin Rose is another top threat to rock the Green Jacket at Butler Cabin this year.  Concurrently Rose ranks second on the Official Golf Ranking.  In the same way as Johnson is Rose looming for his first Masters Tournament title.  Additionally, his only major title was in the 2013 US Open.   Extending his reputation with gamblers is that Rose was 2018 FedEx Cup champion.  Rose picked up a win this year at the Farmers Insurance Open.  Furthermore, he was atop the Official World Golf Ranking earlier in 2019.

Brooks Koepka

Storming to the forefront as a top Masters Tournament contender is Brooks Koepka.  Starting with wins at the US Open and PGA Championship last season has his reputation grown with golf bettors.  More emphatically Koepka was named 2018 PGA Tour Player of the Year.  While not as well-known as other contenders that status is quickly changing.  Koepka was atop the Official World Golf Ranking at the end of last season.  Subsequently he remains in third place behind Dustin Johnson and Justin Rose.  Augusta could be the site of Koepka’s emergence as golf best bet!
