2025 Masters Tournament Golf Betting Odds, Picks & Preview (April 10-13, 2025)

Since 1989, Jim Nance has been the lead announcer for the Masters Tournament. And he is the anchor for plenty of good reason. Nance lives golf and for the Masters Tournament odds. He appreciates the history and traditions of what he calls “A tradition unlike any other.” Last year, Nance called Scottie Scheffler’s championship run. At the onset of the 2025 Masters Tournament betting, Scheffler is the favorite again as he was in 2024. But Scheffler will be facing the best and toughest field in golf. Evey capable golfer wants the coveted Green Jacket more than anything.

2025 Masters Tournament Overview

Scottie Scheffler Seeks Third Green Jacket

Last year, Scottie Scheffler won the Masters Tournament for his second career Green Jacket. Now, Scheffler will try to become the first golfer since Tiger Woods in 2001-2002 to win consecutive Masters Tournament championships. Previously, Scheffler won the 2022 Masters to go with a 2023 PGA Championship, 2022 US Open, and 2024 British Open major titles. Additionally, Scheffler won Olympic Gold for the United States in 2024.

So far this sportsbook season, Scheffler has played in six events with one runner-up, three Top 10s, and six cuts made. In 2024, Scheffler won seven PGA tournaments. Including the 2024 TOUR Championship. Scheffler is a 3-time PGA Tour Player of the Year and 3-time PGA Tour money list winner. Last year was his first FedEx Cup championship. Scheffler is 10th in the FedEx Cup standings and 1st on the Official World Golf Ranking.

Last time out, Scheffler finished second at the Texas Children’s Houston Open. Previously, he placed 20th at the Players Championship, 11th at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, and third at the Genesis Invitational.

Rory McIlroy Hovers Right Behind

Rory McIlroy is second on the Official World Golf Ranking and first in the FedEx Cup standings. McIlroy has two wins this year at the 2025 PLAYERS Championship and the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Last year, he won the Wells Fargo Championship and the Zurich Classic of New Orleans.

McIlroy, age 35, is a native of Northern Ireland but resides in Jupiter, Florida. He has four major championships in his career. But he has not yet secured a Green Jacket. McIlroy was the winner of the 2012 and 2014 PGA Championship, the 2011 US Open, and the 2014 Open Championship. Of course, McIlroy won’t consider his career complete unless he wins a Masters Tournament championship. Last time out, McIlroy finished 5th at the Texas Children’s Open. That followed his win at the PLAYERS Championship.

As mentioned earlier, beating the Masters Betting Lines in consecutive years is extremely difficult. Jack Nicklaus (1965-66), Nick Faldo (1989-90), and Tiger Woods (2001-02) are the only three players to have pulled it off. Thus, Scheffler, the favorite, could be considered a long shot. Rory McIlroy is running out of career runway, and this year is his best chance.

2025 Masters Tournament SBG Best Bets: Rory McIlroy.
