The 2020 Masters Golf Betting a Tradition Unlike Any Other

“A tradition unlike any other.” Those are the words you will hear from lead CBS commentator Jim Nance throughout the weekend at the Masters Tournament. Indeed, there is nothing in sports like the Masters. From the majestic Augusta National Golf Club to the coveted green jacket this is golf’s ultimate event. Most players would gladly trade all of their careers wins for just one trip down to Butler Cabin where the green jacket is presented to the champion.

Last year Tiger Woods made a stirring comeback charge for the ages in a Golf betting shocker. It was the fifth time in Woods’s career that he won the Masters. But in 2019 it was a welcome and unexpected triumph. Even fans that normally were not in the Woods camp were backing him with enthusiasm during his rally to victory. Woods has a bad back and his status is not certain for this year’s Masters Tournament. Rest assured he will make every attempt to be there. In like manner to most golfers, Augusta is his favorite venue of all.

The Masters’ Tournament

Founded in 1934, the Masters Tournament was an immediate hit. Designed by golf champion Bobby Jones and architect Alister MacKenzie the Augusta National Golf Club is considered the most perfect venue in the sport. Specifically, the field for The Masters is smaller than for regular tournaments because it is an invitational event.

Jack Nicklaus is the all-time champion of the Masters Tournament with six sports betting wins. Next is Tiger Woods at five followed by Arnold Palmer with four green jackets.

There are some delightfully peculiar traditions at the Masters that are not seen anywhere else. A clear difference that immediately hits is that the fans are strictly referred to as “patrons.” Legendary CBS commentator Jack Whitaker was removed from his network’s coverage of the Masters Tournament by Augusta high command because he referred to a crowd there as a “mob.” But such idiosyncrasies are what make Augusta what it is. A tradition unlike any other. And the most-watched golf event of the year.

Late on the Masters Tournament has seen a lot of Golf Betting parity and quite a share of surprise winners. Patrick Reed was the champion of the 2018 Masters Tournament. Sergio Garcia won in 2017 with Danny Willett in 2016. Fashion the title by Jordan Spieth in 2015 that was thought to portend his dominance of a new era that is yet to materialize. Starting with Bubba Watson and his wins in 2014 and 2012 is the thrill of an unconventional style taking the green jacket.

To be exact this year’s Masters Tournament will run at a newly announced date after the COVA-19 related postponement of the original dates of April 9-12, 2020.
