The Timber on the other hand in the conference finals beat the Whitecaps in Vancouver 2-0 in the Semi-finals then they had a 2-2 draw against FC Dallas to secure their 1st ever MLS Cup final in their 5th year in the league. The Timbers Coach Porter can also adjust his lineup to produce positive results. One of which has been changing D. Nagbe into a midfield role of attacking and that has made him a very popular player, as well as helping the Timbers in a crucial time as in their last 8 games they have won 6 and had 2 draws in that period.
Their Coach Porter stated that as they began the season they had a goal to make the playoffs and win their division trophy, and since they have accomplished that, now they want to win the big MLS Cup Championship.
