Favored Brazil Dominates Chile in World Cup Odds

Brazil dominated Chile on Monday in the round of 16, winning 3-0 in World Cup odds.

The five-time World Cup champs will now face the Netherlands in the quarterfinals on Friday.  Brazil played their best game of the World Cup in the win over Brazil and reinforced their position as the World Cup betting favorites.

World Cup odds favor Brazil on Friday in their quarterfinal matchup against the Netherlands.  Based on how Brazil played against Chile, they are going to be very tough to beat in World Cup odds.  Brazil is in the quarterfinals for the fifth straight World Cup.

Chile really had no shot against Brazil. They were completely dominated in the round of 16 match on Monday.  Chile has not won against Brazil in a decade and they were never in Monday’s game. Juan scored for Brazil in the 35th minute and Luis Fabiano added a goal in the 38th minute. After that goal it was only a matter of the final score. Robinho scored his first goal in this year’s World Cup when he scored in the 59th minute. Kaka was back in the lineup for Brazil after missing the last match due to suspension.  He looked very strong and opened up the Chile defense that was missing Gary Medel and Waldo Ponce.  Brazil goalkeeper Julio Cesar was not really tested in the match although he did have to make a save late in the match when he stopped a strong shot from Suazo.  Brazil has won eight straight matches against Chile by a combined score of 29-3. Brazil has won their last 15 matches when Robinho scores and they are now 30-0-4 when Kaka and Robinho both play.

Brazil could be peaking at the right time in World Cup odds but the easy part is now over for them as they should get their first test against the Netherlands in the quarterfinals on Friday. The Netherlands was considered one of the teams that could upset Brazil before the World Cup began and they will get their chance on Friday in a match that can be seen on ESPN.  Brazil was the close second choice behind Spain to win the World Cup before it began but based on their recent play, Brazil has taken over the role of favorite in World Cup betting.
