Eastern Conference in MLS Betting

MLS betting fans have been treated to several great season over the past few years and 2008 promises to be even more exciting.

With the league attracting more and more talent most soccer betting odds experts expect the 2008 season to be the best in the history of MLS betting. And although the reigning MLS betting champ is from the Western conference most soccer betting odds analysts’ view the Eastern conference as the more talented MLS conference.

MLS betting fans have seen the defense of Houston Dynamo smother the attacking offenses of the Eastern conference teams in the finals over the past two years. But this year, according to those who know about MLS betting, is the year that the East will reclaim the crown as the winner of MLS’ top soccer betting odds prize. Last season DC Untied went on a run late in the season and sewed up the best record in MLS betting. With 55 points DC United was the number one seed in the playoffs although they failed to live up to the expectations.

New England and New York were right behind DC United in the Eastern standings are arguably both among the top three or four teams in MLS betting. DC United was nearly unbeatable down the last stretch of the season and if can keep up that kind of play for the entire MLS betting season there isn’t a team in the East that can catch it. But with injuries and all other factors considered it will be very tough to sustain that level of play all soccer betting odds season.

New York, with another season for its new players to gel and its young players to develop will be a very tough team to stop. It will boast the most dangerous set of scoring forwards in all of MLS betting in Juan Pablo Angel and Jozie Altidore. With some great mid-field play as well the Red Bulls will be a very dangerous MLS betting opponent.

A surprise MLS betting team in the East this year could be the Chicago Fire. The team made a late push with addition of Cuauhtémoc Blanco last season and that momentum should carry over into the 2008 major soccer betting season as well.
