Canadian Football Betting Pointspread Winners

Canadian Football betting in 2008 saw the Calgary Stampeders finish the season with a 13-5 record straight up and against the Canadian Football odds.

Calgary was by far the best team versus the Canadian Football betting pointspread in 2008 and they are favored again in 2009. Here are more numbers from last season to consider as you get ready to bet CFL action in 2009.

Canadian Football betting in 2008 saw every team in the West Division finish with a winning record straight up.  Three of those four teams finished with winning records against the Canadian Football odds.  Calgary, as previously mentioned was 13-5 ATS.  Saskatchewan and Edmonton were both 9-8-1 while British Columbia was 8-9-1 against the Canadian Football betting pointspread.

In the East Division only one team finished with a winning record.  Montreal was 11-7 straight up and 10-8 against the Canadian Football betting odds.  Winnipeg was 8-10 straight up and 7-9-2 against the Canadian Football betting odds at the sportsbook.  Toronto and Hamilton were both awful.  The Argonauts were 4-14 straight up and 6-10-2 against the spread while Hamilton was 3-15 straight up and 6-11-1 against the Canadian Football odds.

Looking at those Canadian Football betting numbers there are not many surprises.  Teams with winning records straight up also won against the Canadian Football betting pointspread.  Teams that lost straight up also lost against the sports betting pointspread. The only minor surprise was Saskatchewan.  They finished with a 12-6 record straight up but they were only 9-8-1 against the Canadian Football odds at the sportsbook.

In terms of the Canadian Football betting total there were some interesting numbers.  Hamilton may have been the worst team record wise but they were the top team in going over the sports betting total as they went over in 13 of their 18 games.  Calgary went over the Canadian Football betting total in 11 of their 18 games.  Most of the other Canadian Football betting numbers were right about average.  Montreal, British Columbia and Saskatchewan went under in 10 of their 18 games while Winnipeg went under in 11 of their 18 games.  Edmonton went over in 10 of their 18 games while Toronto was exactly .500 in terms of over/unders at 9-9.
