Kodiak Kowboy Set for BC Sprint Breeders Betting

November 30th, 2010 Breeders Cup Betting

Breeders betting on Saturday, November 7th should include two-time Grade 1 winner, Kodiak Kowboy.

The horse is coming off a win in the Grade 1 Vosburgh in early October.  He should be a popular online betting choice in the Sprint in Breeders wagering.

Breeders betting indicated that Kodiak Kowboy has not done that well on synthetic surfaces so that is something to keep in mind as you look at Breeders betting.  The horse has three starts on synthetics but has only one once. "He’s a solid horse and been consistent for everybody who has had him," trainer Steve Asmussen said, "He’s already got two Grade 1 wins on his resume this year and has a lot at stake in the Sprint. We’re absolutely worried about having to run on the Pro-Ride. I sure wish the race was on dirt." The horse is set to have one workout at Santa Anita before the Breeders Cup.

A couple of other horses have joined the Breeders betting field.  Kera’s Kitten and Lisa’s Kitten won stakes races at Retama Park over the weekend and booked their automatic entry into Breeders wagering.  The two horses are trained by Ken and Sarah Ramsey.  Jockey Julien Leparoux rode both of them for trainer Mike Maker.  Kera’s Kitten was the online betting winner of the El Joven Stakes to win her way into Breeders betting.  The horse will now be part of the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf.  Lisa’s Kitten won the La Senorita Stakes for fillies to win her way into Breeders betting.  She is headed for the Breeders Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf.

Breeders wagering at the online sportsbook starts on Friday, November 6th with races televised on ESPN 2.  It begins with the Marathon at 3:35 pm Eastern time on Friday.  That Breeders betting race is followed by the Juvenile Fillies Turf and the Filly & Mare Sprint.  There will be a pick six on Friday so the second three Breeders betting races will be the Juvenile Fillies, the Filly & Mare Turf and the Ladies’ Classic.

Saturday is a great day for Breeders wagering at the online sportsbook. There are 8 races on the Breeders betting card beginning with the Juvenile Turf at 1:45 pm Eastern.  The first three races in Breeders betting on Saturday will be televised by ABC.  Those other two races on ABC are the Turf Sprint and the Dirt Mile. ESPN has the other five races in Breeders betting.  The Juvenile goes at 3:49 pm Eastern followed by the Mile and the Sprint.  The final two races in Breeders betting are the Turf and the Classic.
