John Velazquez
There may not be a more reliable jockey than Velazquez. He doesn’t have the big name that Gomez has but when you have your money riding on a horse, you really like Velazquez. He has seven lifetime career Breeder’s Cup wins and has won more than $10 million in purse money in the Breeders Cup. Velazquez doesn’t get the press that someone like Gomez or Kent Desormeaux gets, but he is arguably a better jockey than either of them in big races.

He has won seven times in the Breeders Cup. He used to be a superb jockey but he is no longer considered among the best in the world. But he has had success in Breeders Cup betting races in the past.
