The second race on Saturday, November 6th in Breeders Cup wagering is the Dirt Mile and it has the potential to be one of the best races of the day. It is the first time that the race will be run a mile on the dirt. European horses could get the bulk of the attention in Breeders Cup odds at the Sbg sportsbook in the Dirt Mile.
Godolphin Horses
Godolphin will have two contenders in the Dirt Mile in Vineyard Haven and Gayego. This is a year where European horses should not be ignored and these two are definite threats to win.
Tizway – This horse could go off as the favorite. He won the Kelso Handicap by five lengths in 1:34 2/5. He was third to Quality Road and Musket Man in the Met Mile.
Crown of Thorns – This horse is one of the few threats that is coming from out west. He has been beset by injuries but he could be ready for a big effort in this race.
Here Comes Ben – A local horse that won the Forego in an upset.
Mad Flatter – He won the Spend a Buck Handicap at Calder to automatically get a spot in the Dirt Mile.
Thiskyhasnolimit – The horse was second to Lookin at Lucky in the Indiana Derby.
Mine That Bird – The horse has yet to win since he won the Kentucky Derby in 2009.
Other possible horses – Bribon could be in this race or in the Sprint. Redding Colliery won the Hawthorne Gold Cup and he may be entered in this race. Dakota Phone is another possible contender in Breeders Cup odds if he doesn’t go in the Marathon. He won the San Diego Handicap and was third in the Goodwood.
