Beethoven and Alfred Nobel set for Juvenile Breeders Cup Betting

November 30th, 2010 Breeders Cup Betting

Breeders Cup betting for the Juvenile is set to have two more contenders as Beethoven and Alfred Nobel are expected to run.

Breeders Cup wagering on the Juvenile will take place on Saturday, November 7th as part of the nine-race Breeders Cup betting card at the sportsbook.

Breeders Cup betting at the sportsbook begins on Friday, November 6th with five races. The Juvenile will be run on Saturday in Breeders Cup betting and Beethoven and Alfred Nobel could get some attention in sportsbook odds. Beethoven was a 33-1 longshot in the Dewhurst Stakes but was an upset winner. That win for trainer Aidan O’Brien put the horse in the Breeders Cup betting field. Beethoven will join Alfred Nobel in the Juvenile in Breeders Cup betting while Viscount Nelson will run in the Juvenile Turf. “The plan is for Beethoven to run in the juvenile dirt. He has always had a lot of ability, but he needs good ground and he was probably starting to get tired of running on bad ground.” O’Brien said, “When he ran in France they just walked around before sprinting at the end. I would say better ground and waking him up a bit with the visor all helped him at Newmarket.”

O’Brien also has Lillie Langtry who will go in the Juvenile fillies in Breeders Cup betting while Man Of Iron could run go in the Marathon. Rip Van Winkle and Mastercraftsman are expected to go in the Classic. “Both horses have been busy this season, but we believe they are very good horses and very tough horses,” O’Brien said. One of O’Brien’s horses that won’t go in Breeders Cup betting will be Septimus. Another one that won’t be in Breeders Cup wagering is Fame And Glory. He was the favorite for the Champion Stakes but did not run well. “The plan is for him to race next year and hopefully he will be able to do well again,” O’Brien said. “Saturday’s race was at the end of a long season and it could be the Arc took more out of him than we thought.”

Breeders Cup betting has five races on Friday. The five races in Breeders Cup wagering are the Filly & Mare Turf, the Juvenile Fillies, the Ladies’ Classic, the Filly & Mare Sprint and the Juvenile Fillies Turf. There are nine races in Breeders Cup betting on Saturday. The Classic leads the way in Breeders Cup wagering at the sports book but also on the Breeders Cup betting card are the Turf, Juvenile, Mile, Sprint, Dirt Mile, Juvenile Turf, Turf Sprint and Marathon.
