Manny Pacquiao has had a full year to stew over his last fight.  One year ago, “Pac Man” lost a 12 round unanimous decision against Jeff Horn.  At stake was the World Boxing Organization World Welterweight title.  However, Pacquiao will get a new shot at a title belt on July 14.  Lucas Martin Matthysse will provide the opposition.  Matthysse holds the World Boxing Association World Welterweight championship.  Yet Pac Man is a small betting Odds for Boxing favorite to take away Matthysse’s belt.  Perhaps much of this is based on Pacquiao’s name recognition.  Yet he remains quite able too.

Beyond the Boxing Ring for Pacquiao

Much of Pacquiao’s “brand” is based on things far beyond the boxing ring.  He has lived a full and colorful life.  Among his interests are politics and entertainment.  Pac Man has made highly controversial political statements.  Yet he has won actual elections to congress.  Acting and filmography have been a staple of his.  Video game appearances are also on his vast resume.  Tax evasion and disclosure of injuries are among the controversies.  All told even folks not interested in boxing are familiar with Pacquiao.  He brings name recognition like few others.

Lucas Martin Matthysse is a live betting Odds for Boxing dog.  As defending champion, he brings credibility.  Not to mention a bargain price.  Manny Pacquiao brings a larger than life name.  However, the record reveals his decline.  Matthysse clearly is the superior value.
