NASCAR Ford EcoBoost 400 from Homestead

For all that has transpired in the long betting on NASCAR season it will all come down to the final race on Sunday.  Indeed, NASCAR’s Final Four is set and the champion will be crowned at Homestead Miami Speedway.  Joey Logano, Kyle Busch, Martin Truex Jr, and Kevin Harvick are the last men standing.  And Busch has the hot hand after winning at Phoenix last week with Harvick placing fifth.  Meanwhile Logano had a horrible day finishing 37th last Sunday.  Truex finished 14th at Phoenix as he prepares to defend his title.  Additionally, Truex’s team is folding Sunday night.

Homestead Miami Speedway

The Ford EcoBoost 400 has been run under various names since 1999.  Last year Martin Truex Jr took the checkered flag and hoisted the NASCAR Cup as champion.  Jimmie Johnson was the winner in 2016 with Kyle Busch winning in 2015.  Further, Kevin Harvick won this race in 2014. This event has served as NASSCAR’s “championship weekend” since 2002.  Homestead Miami Speedway seats 46,000 fans and was opened in 1995.  The track is a mile and a half in length with turn banks of 18-20 degrees.

Joey Logano

Joey Logano is in the Final Four due in large part to giving Truex a “love tap” to win at Martinsville three races ago.  Despite the heat he took for that Logano has had a strong season.  In fact, Logano has finished in the top ten in all but two of the nine playoff races.

Kyle Busch

Kyle Busch has been the biggest winner in NASCAR this year.  To show, Busch has two playoff wins with second and fourth place runs in post season as well.   Busch posted six wins in the regular season.  Extending Busch’s success is his 2015 NASCAR Cup championship.  Besides that, no other driver has been able to match “Rowdy’s” determination on the track.

Kevin Harvick

Kevin Harvick has been the other big betting on NASCAR winner this season.  To illuminate, Harvick has seven wins on the regular season.  Additionally, Harvick won a playoff race at Texas but was later docked for an illegal spoiler.

Martin Truex, Jr

Martin Truex, Jr has the most unique set of online betting intangibles.  Despite being the defending champion, his team announced in August it would fold at season’s end.  Truex won four races in the regular season.  Balanced against that is his bad luck in the playoffs.  In fact, Truex has finished fifth or better in four post season runs.  Moreover, he could have easily won at the Roval and at Martinsville.

Wild Card

Granted, the focus will be on the Final Four drivers.  However, the big wild card is the rest of the field that has nothing to lose.  Likewise, these drivers can drive extra aggressively for the checkered flag.

Matchup to Watch

Kevin Harvick has the best betting on NASCAR record among the contenders at Homestead.  He has one win and 15 top ten finishes in 17 career starts there.  Otherwise Truex has the second-best career marks at Homestead.  More emphatically he will be the sentimental favorite.

Ford EcoBoost 400 Betting Odds Picks

Only Kyle Busch ranks with Kevin Harvick as far as producing checkered flags.  Look for Harvick to end up as race winner and hoist his second cup championship.
