Harvick Biggest of Big Three NASCAR Betting Favorites at Michigan

Consumers Energy 400 NASCAR Betting analysis and odds

A distinct NASCAR betting difference was experienced last week at Watkins Glen from most race days.  At last Chase Elliott got his first MENCS career win on the road course.  Further, the famed “Big Three” were kept out of victory lane for just the fourth time all season.  Though this may be true both Martin Truex Jr and Kyle Busch came close.  In particular Truex Jr was breathing down Elliott’s neck at the end.  However, he ran out of gas near the finish.  Meanwhile Busch may have had the fastest car but was undermined by a pit mistake.

Concerns for Bettors

Of major concern is if the Big Three can be conquered at Michigan International Speedway.  Definitely Kevin Harvick, Truex Jr and Busch are the top NASCAR betting choices and with good reason.  MIS is a standard D shaped oval that is two miles in length.  Further it is one of the fastest tracks on the circuit.  Additionally, it is the type of track the Big Three has dominated this season.   While Clint Bowyer won at MIS in June it was a rain shortened race.  Especially relevant was a pit gamble that brought Bowyer to victory lane.

Michigan International Speedway

The Consumers Energy 400 has been run under various names since 1969.  Counter to sportsbook expectations Kyle Larson has won this event the past two seasons.  Michigan International Speedway opened in 1968 and seats 71,000.  Presently it has 18 degree turn banks and is 12 degrees at the start finish line.  Overall the great David Pearson has the most career wins for this race at five.  Likewise, Elliott’s father Bill won this event three straight times from 1985-87.

Kevin Harvick

Certainly, Kevin Harvick merits his chalk status for Sunday.  To show Harvick has one win and an average finish of 12th at MIS.  In addition, he has 16 career top tens at Michigan in 35 career starts.  Not withstanding last week’s 10th place finish Harvick is second in the MENCS standings.  And he has a total of six wins on the season.  What’s more he finished second at Michigan in June.

Kyle Busch

Now Kyle Busch leads the MENCS standings.  Simultaneously with Harvick he also has six wins in 2018.  Namely Busch has been in top form lately.  For example, he has finished fifth or better in eight of his last nine starts.  However, Busch has had mixed results at Michigan.  Consider he has one win and an average finish of 18.9 in 27 starts at MIS.

Truex Jr

Truex Jr has never won at MIS with an average finish of 15.5 in 25 starts.  Moreover, he has just nine top ten finishes at Michigan.

Matchup to Watch

Consistent with 2018 Harvick is a justifiable NASCAR betting favorite.  To be exact he has a solid record at Michigan.  In the second place he’ll be highly motivated after blah showing last week at Watkins Glen.

NASCAR games Betting Odds Picks
