Once upon a time, this race opened as the Richmond 200 back in 1958. It has been run under various names since that time. Overall “The King” Richard Petty has a record seven wins in this event. Kyle Busch was the winner in 2018 with Kyle Larson taking the checkers in 2017 and Denny Hamlin winning in 2016. Richmond Raceway is a driver favorite in that it is considered to be the perfect length and width. Overall the distance is 0.75 miles with an asphalt surface and D-shaped oval.
