Defending Champs Take 1-2 Betting on NASCAR Lead to Pocono

Pocono 400 from Pocono Raceway

Last year’s regular season and playoff champions lead the standing heading into the weekend.  Kyle Busch won the 2018 regular season title in dominant fashion.  Subsequently Joey Logano was the playoff champion for 2018.  Busch leads the MENCS standings with Logano right behind.  Both have had their share of betting on NASCAR at Pocono Raceway.  Pocono is known as the “Tricky Triangle.”  As such it offers a severe test of man versus machine and the track itself.  A multitude of drivers have done well at Pocono.  Yet those same drivers have shared frustration on the Tricky Triangle.

Following three wins in the first eight races Kyle Busch hit a sump. Worst of all was a 30th place finish at Kansas.  Busch recovered with a strong online betting performance last week and 3rd place finish.  Joey Logano has one win on the season.  But Logano has finished seventh or better in five of his last six runs.  Now fan favorite Chase Elliott has climbed to third place in the MENCS standings.  Elliott has four straight top five finishes with a win.

Harvick Searches for Checkers

Namely Kevin Harvick rivaled Kyle Busch as a dominant driver last year.  So far in 2019 he is yet to win a race.  However, Harvick’s consistency has put him in fourth place.  Brad Keselowski has put the blue deuce in victory lane three times this year.  And 2017 playoff champion Martin Truex Jr. has won three of the last five races.  As a result, Truex is in sixth place.  Denny Hamlin and Kurt Busch follow.  With Ryan Blaney and Alex Bowman ninth and tenth in the standings.
