Betting on NASCAR Playoff Action Begins Sunday from Las Vegas!

NASCAR South Point 400 From Las Vegas

At the outset of the regular season it was clear that few NASCAR drivers had a bona fide shot to win consistently.  A clear difference existed between the “Big Three” and the rest of the betting on NASCAR lineup.  Above all Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick and defending champion Martin Truex Jr stood apart most of 2018.  However, Truex is fading as his team announced it will fold at season’s end.  Meanwhile a former champion has caught fire.  2012 champion Brad Keselowski has posted back to back wins.  And they were the crown jewels of Darlington and Indianapolis.

Names to Consider

The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs begin Sunday from Las Vegas.  Although it is true that Kyle Busch was dominant in winning the regular season he had strong betting on NASCAR competition.  In particular second place Kevin Harvick was a persistent threat all season.  Account of six wins for Busch and seven for Harvick gave them the headlines.  Late on in June and July Truex flashed his championship form.  As a consequence, he won four races.  But Keselowski closed the regular season in dominant fashion.  What’s more in the last four races he posted two wins with a second.

Truex

It follows that Truex is dropping as an online betting choice in the playoffs.  In the same way his lame duck team will likely be distracted.  Instead of full attention on fine tuning cars they are all job hunting for 2019.  Certainly, the strain of his team’s collapse has hurt the performance of Truex.  To begin with he has finished outside the top ten in his last four starts.  Further, he was 30th at Bristol and 40th last week at Indianapolis.  In view of Truex already landing a 2019 ride it figures that the rest of his team lacks focus.

Kyle Busch and Kevin Harvick

For this reason, there seems to be a new “Big Three” with Keselowski replacing Truex.  Commencing with Sunday’s race from Las Vegas Motor Speedway he will join Kyle Busch and Harvick as top choices.  Both Kyle Busch and Kevin Harvick are previous champions to go with Keselowski.  Starting with Kyle’s brother Kurt there are some excellent dark horse choices.

Busch Stats to Consider

By reason of his also winning a past championship Kurt Busch offers potentially strong value.  Simultaneously as a driver for Stewart Haus racing he will have top equipment.  Busch finished seventh in the regular season standings and won the Bristol night race.  Hence, he has also posted eight consecutive top ten finishes.

Clint Bowyer

Clint Bowyer finished fifth in the regular season standings with two wins.  More emphatically he is another driver for Stewart Haus.  For this reason, Bowyer cannot be ignored.  Balanced against that was his relatively weak finish. To show Bowyer missed the top ten in seven of his last nine races.

Matchup to Watch

As a matter of fact, there is a seven-time champion racing in the betting on NASCAR playoffs.  In brief Jimmie Johnson never got it together in the regular season.  But he has four career wins at Las Vegas.  Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick and Brad Keselowski all have strong numbers at Vegas.  Keselowski will bring the most value.
