You had to figure it was going to end and it did.  Kyle Busch’s remarkable three race winning streak ended last Sunday.  As a consolation Busch remains on top of the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup standings.  Right behind Busch is Joey Logano.  It was Logano that took the checkers last week at Talladega.  Kevin Harvick remains a hot betting on NASCAR pick.  Harvick won three races in a row earlier in the season.  He was fourth last week at Talladega.  Busch and Harvick have captured the headlines all season.  But Dover has not been a great track for either driver.

The AAA 400 Drive for Autism has bee run under various names at Dover since 1969.  Jimmie Johnson has been monster dominant in this race.  His win last year was the fourth in the last six years in this event.  Johnson has won this race a total of six times for his career.  Dover International Speedway opened in 1969.  It currently seats 95,500.  Since 1995 Dover has had a concrete surface.  Oval is the one-mile configuration of the track.  It’s turn banks are 24 degrees.

Jimmie Johnson finished 12th last week at Talladega.  He is 14th in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup standings.  Johnson has overcome a slow start with better performances the last three weeks.  Considering his career success at Dover this could be a breakout week.  The seven-time champion will be a popular betting on NASCAR selection.

Clint Bowyer

Clint Bowyer is in fourth place so far this season.  However, last week was quite costly.  Bowyer finished 31st at Talladega.  He has one win on the season. At Dover Bowyer has solid numbers.  In 23 career starts he has 13 top ten finishes.  His average finish at Dover is 12.92.

Kurt Busch and Brad Keselowski

Logano’s win last week was his first of the year.  Kyle Busch’s brother Kurt has made big gains.  Kurt Busch is now fifth in the standings.  He is yet to win a race.  But he was a strong second place last Sunday.  Brad Keselowski has been hot and cold this year.  He has five finishes of tenth or better.  He also has four finishes of 23rd or worse.

Chase Elliott

Among active drivers Chase Elliott has among the best numbers at Dover.  Elliott has not won at Dover.  But he has four top five finishes in four starts.  Elliott has an average finish of 3.25.  Elliott may get some online sportsbook action.  He finished third last week and second the week prior.

Jimmie Johnson is certainly a top contender at Dover.  In 32 career starts he has 11 career wins there.  Johnson has an average finish at Dover of 9.06.  23 of his 32 starts finished in the top ten.

Matchup to Watch

Harvick and Kyle Bush do not have great numbers at Dover.  They pale in comparison to Johnson’s big-time stats.  Johnson has to be the betting on NASCAR choice to bust out.  He owns this track compared to the rest.
