July 10th, 2019 Arena Football, Online Wagering

Admittedly the Arena Football League has had its share of problems in recent years.  Since its peak in 2008 the AFL suffered through a free fall.  Loss of teams and prestige marred its credibility. However, 2019 has shown new online arena football betting interest.  The AFL has slowly come back to life to now boast seven franchises.  Star players such as Tommy Grady, Arvell Nelson, and Malachi Jones thrill a new generation of fans.  With that in mind Arena Bowl XXXII on August 11 looks wide open.  Let’s take a look at the top teams and players for AFL 2019.

Albany Builds Empire

Certainly, the Albany Empire have been a top online arena football betting success story.  Born in 2018 they were the best 2019 team after two months of play.  First, Albany started off 8-2 straight up.  Even better was that they got the money in all five of their lined games.  Quarterback Tommy Grady has lit defenses up for a 122.5 rating.  Grady bombed opposing teams for a spectacular 59/10 touchdown to interception ratio.  Further help came from Malachi Jones’ 1245 yards receiving with 21 touchdowns.  Collin Taylor added 770 receiving yards with 24 touchdowns.

Philadelphia Shows its Soul

Concurrently the Philadelphia Soul demonstrated online wagering ability with a 6-4 record.  The Soul were tied with Baltimore for second place behind Albany.  Quarterback Dan Raudabaugh threw for 2307 yards with 48 touchdown passes.  Further, Raudabaugh compiled a 113.3 quarterback rating with only eight interceptions.  Receiver Darius Prince had 799 receiving yards with 18 touchdowns.  Adrian Ferns ran for 10 touchdowns.  Most important of all is a tradition of winning.  To illuminate the Soul has won AFL championships in 2008, 2016, and 2017.

Baltimore Brigade

Another popular team on the online arena football betting board is the Baltimore Brigade.  Baltimore opened with six wins in their first 10 games.  Four of their five lined games went under the total.  Of great concern to enemy teams is quarterback Shane Boyd.  Boyd passed for 2190 yards with 43 touchdowns and a 112.8 rating.  Additionally, he threw only five interceptions.  Receiver Joe Hills has been a key asset with 624 yards and 19 touchdowns.  Brandon Collins started with 712 yards and 12 TD receptions.  This marks the third season in Brigade history.

Washington Valor

Entering its third season in the Arena Football League Washington stumbled out of the 2019 gate.  It follows that the Valor split their first ten games.  Perhaps it’s part of a hangover from their 2018 AFL title.  That marked owner Ted Leonis’ second celebration of 2018 as his Capitals won the Stanley Cup.  Quarterback Arvell Nelson began 2019 with 2467 yards and 43 touchdowns.  However, his 13 interceptions dragged his rating down to 97.1.  Doug McNeil III caught 12 touchdown passes.

Atlantic City Blackjacks

Account of their status as a new expansion team do the Blackjacks show faith in the AFL’s future.  Atlantic City lost six of their first 10 games in history.  Quarterbacks Randy Hippeard and Warren Smith split time.  Hippeard threw for 1602 yards and 29 touchdowns with a 111.4 rating.  Along the same lines Smith had a 117.1 rating.  He threw for 688 yards with 14 touchdowns and two interceptions.  LaMark Brown totaled 584 yards receiving and 17 touchdowns.  Correlate Antwane Grant’s 737 yards and 10 touchdowns.
