The news just keeps getting worse for Green Bay and their football odds are starting to be adjusted. The Packers got news on Wednesday that tight end Jermichael Finley will miss the rest of the season with a right knee injury. The Packers have been decimated by injuries and there is no guarantee that starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers plays this week and his status is huge to NFL betting lines.The Packers host Miami this week and odds makers are waiting on the status of Rodgers before they put out a line on the game. What we do know is that Green Bay will be without one of their top offensive players in Finley. He was a superb target for Rodgers and will definitely be missed.
More Injuries – The Packers injury list is getting to be ridiculous. In addition to Rodgers being questionable with a concussion and Finley out for the season, they are going to be without linebacker Nick Barnett who is likely out for the seasons with a wrist injury. Linebacker Clay Matthews has a hamstring strain, defensive lineman Ryan Pickett has an ankle sprain, tight end Donald Lee has a chest sprain and safety Derrick Martin is out for the season with a knee injury. And all of this doesn’t even count the ones the Packers were already dealing with. Running back Ryan Grant is out for the year as is starting safety Morgan Burnett and defensive lineman Justin Harrell. And this team is considered a Super Bowl favorite? I don’t think so.
Packers 8-1 at Sbg global – The Packers are still 8-1 in NFL betting lines to win the Super Bowl this season. That number is ridiculously low. The only reason the Packers remain contenders at all is that the NFC is weak. The Saints don’t look as good as last seasons, the Vikings and Cowboys are a mess and even the Falcons are not blowing people away.
The only good news for Green Bay is that they could get cornerback Al Harris and safety Atari Bigby back soon although it may not be this week. If you are considering the Green Bay-Miami game in football odds you will have to wait until late in the week before you can bet the game but the Dolphins might be worth a play considering all of the injury troubles that Green Bay has.
