The baseball lines action could not get any more excited in the National League right now and with two division leads up for grab at the moment and the Wild Card race as close as it’s ever been there’s no telling how things will end up. But needless to see there will be a wild finish to the NL playoff battle this season. The best game of the evening on September 14th will have major implications on the NL postseason and could even result major changes in the NL West division race.
The San Diego Padres (80-62) were on cruise control for most of the baseball lines season jumping out to a big lead in the NL West early one and keeping plenty of distance between itself and the rest of the division until a few weeks ago. And then the team went on a 0-10 slide and both the San Fran Giants (81-63) and the Colorado Rockies (79-64) took advantage.
The Rockies have been especially impressive winning 10 straight games and are now the hottest team in baseball. This development does not bode well for the Padres as they’ve won just four of their past 10 games and must face the Rockies at home. Colorado has the best record in the baseball odds action at home (50-22) and has been nearly unbeatable there over the past month. The team also has the highest batting average of any team at home and unfortunately for the Padres and Giants the team plays almost all their games in the Mile High City over the next month.
The Padres will start John Garland (13-11, 3.52) who despite being roughed up during the team’s losing streak has pitched well for most of the season. The Rockies will send starter Jason Hammel (10-7, 4.34 ERA) to the mound. If the truth is told Hammel has not pitched all that well this year but like most of the Rockies starters, he hasn’t lost a game in months and has only lost one start in Denver this year.
Even with the NL West title on the line the Padres will not be able to win this Baseball lines matchup. The Rockies are simply too good at home and come out on top in the baseball odds competition.
