UFC 109 odds have a number of big favorites for the event on Saturday, February 6th. The feature bout in UFC betting has Randy Couture about a 5-1 favorite against Mark Coleman. UFC 109 odds also have Nate Marquardt and Demian Maia as big favorites. Marquardt is a huge 5-1 favorite in UFC betting odds in his bout against Chael Sonnen while Maia is about 3-1 in his fight against Dan Miller. It is somewhat unusual to see such big favorites in UFC betting but that is the case with some of these bouts in UFC 109 odds.
The main card for UFC 109 odds has five fights. In addition to the Couture-Coleman, Maia-Miller and Marquardt-Sonnen bouts it will be Mike Swick taking on Paulo Thiago and Matt Serra vs. Frank Trigg. Swick is about a 2-1 favorite in UFC 109 odds and while that is not a huge number he is still a solid favorite. The only bout of the five on the main card with close UFC 109 odds is the one between Serra and Trigg. It is Serra a very slight favorite in UFC 109 betting.
There are six bouts on the preliminary card. Spike TV is going to show two of them live. They are Mac Danzig vs. Justin Buchholz and Melvin Guillard vs. Ronnys Torres. The other four preliminary bouts in UFC 109 odds have Rob Emerson vs. Phillipe Nover, Phil Davis vs. Brian Stann, Chris Tuchscherer vs. Tim Hague and Mostapha Al-turk vs. Rolles Gracie.
The two bouts on Spike TV should attract some good attention. Guillard looked good against Nate Diaz last September until he got careless and left himself open. Diaz got a guillotine choke that ended the bout in the second round. That loss snapped a three-fight win streak for Guillard and it has motivated him. He is now training with Joe Stevenson and making sure he doesn’t fall victim to another submission hold. “Now I’m not as worried anymore (about facing a grappler) because I’m training with the best guys in the world, and just having Joe in my corner has built up my confidence a whole lot,” Guillard said. “He submits me all the time, but Joe just has that vice grip – once he’s on you, he’s on you. And even with my explosiveness, I have my times when I can get away from him, and it just comes from training. As long as I keep learning and my confidence keeps growing, I’m gonna continue to fight whoever they put in front of me.”
