No Big Surprises Yet In 2010 US Open Betting

US Open Betting: No Big Surprises Yet In 2010 US Open Betting : Every year the most hyped an unpredictable tennis matches occur at the Gram Slam events and the 2010 was expected to be full of surprises.  But so far the action has been subdued and everything seems to be going along as planned.  The high seeds are winning their matches, the pre-tournament favorites are on course to reach the finals and as opposed to most years at the US Open there really hasn’t been any dark horse contender emerge or any unusual story lines develop.

But that doesn’t mean that the US Open odds action has been boring.  That is far from it.

Men’s #1 seed, and world #1 ranked player, Raphael Nadal has been punishing opponents and looks on course to meet up with the world #2 and 5-time US Open betting champion Roger Federer.  Nadal has never played well in this event.  His physical style of tennis has generally left his body wrecked by the time the season reaches September.  However, he’s been brilliant so far this year in the US Open action and this could the year he finally wins the event.  He’s never made it out of the semi-finals at this event but this looks to be his year.  Expect Nadal and Federer to meet in what should be an epic Men’s final to this year’s US Open betting action

With the 1, 2, 3 and 5-seeds still alive heading into the fourth round of action there hasn’t been any major upsets.  While American’s Andy Roddick was expected to a make better showing his early departure from the US Open odds action has become commonplace.  Brit Andy Murray, the tournament’s 4-seed seed likewise was knocked out in the third round but he’s also made a career of early departures from the US Open betting action.

On the women’s side the big guns are still in the mix: 1-seed Carline Wozniacki, 2-seed Kim Clijsters and 2-seed Venus Williams have all looked strong and appear to be on a collision course to the title.  14-seed Maria Sharapova, former winner of the US Open, is a player to keep your eye.  After vanquishing her latest opponent 6-0, 6-0 she looks to be on a mission.
