Starting with the 2017-18 season, Bruce Pearl took the Tigers to the March Madness lines in six of the last seven tournaments. Pearl won his third SEC title this season. Also, he won a school record 32 games. Now, Auburn meets the SEC rival Florida Gators in the Final Four. The Auburn Tigers are in the program’s golden age of college basketball. For the second time since 2019, War Eagle is headed to the Final Four. Naturally, the difference is head coach Bruce Pearl, who went through three painful losing seasons to get the program’s foundation built.

Auburn Tigers Team Overview

Late on, Auburn has covered three of its previous three games and has gone under the sportsbook total in five of its last six outings. First among Auburn scorers is Johni Broome, with 18.7 points per game.

Overall, the Auburn Tigers are 30-5 straight up, 18-13 against the spread, and 20-11 over/under the total. Auburn has national metrics of 10th for scoring offense, 27th for field goal percentage, 46th for 3-point field goal percentage, 112th for free throw percentage, and 63rd for offensive rebounding. Defensively, Auburn is 101st for scoring defense, 38th for field goal percentage permitted, 7th for 3-point field goal percentage allowed, and 67th for defensive rebounding.

Of great concern was when Johni Broome left for the locker room after falling on his elbow. In his absence, No. 1 Auburn held its lead over No. 2 Michigan State. Late on, Broome returned, knocked down a 3-pointer, and eventually celebrated a 70-64 victory for the Tigers.

In sum, the All-American Broome collected 25 points and 14 rebounds. Also, freshman Tahaad Pettiford added 10 points off the bench for Auburn. Broome, who was cleared after undergoing X-rays, was more than happy to return and push the Tigers over the finish line.

Previously, the Tigers fell 90-81 at home to Florida on Feb. 8. Thus, Auburn is aware of the challenge awaiting them in San Antonio.

Florida Gators Team Overview

Lately, Florida has covered one of its previous four games and has gone over the NCAA Tournament odds total in ten of its last ten outings. Walter Clayton is first among Florida scorers with 18.1 points per game.

Overall, the Florida Gators are 33-4 straight up, 23-8 against the spread, and 14-16 over/under the total. Florida has national metrics of 4th for scoring offense, 53rd for field goal percentage, 91st for 3-point field goal percentage, 197th for free throw percentage, and 3rd for offensive rebounding. Defensively, Florida is 93rd for scoring defense, 14th for field goal percentage permitted, 10th for 3-point field goal percentage allowed, and 141st for defensive rebounding.

Walter Clayton Jr. scored a game-high 30 points, including 11 points in the final 5:24, as top-seeded Florida survived a back-and-forth battle. Specifically, Florida beat third-seeded Texas Tech 84-79 and advanced to the Final Four of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday at Chase Center.

Clayton, who was named the regional’s most outstanding player, saved his heroics for down the stretch. Including hitting three 3-pointers down the stretch to help the Gators erase a 75-66 deficit in the final three minutes. Additionally, Thomas Haugh added 20 points, including two big 3-pointers during the second-half comeback. Also, he contributed 11 rebounds. Guard Alijah Martin added 10 points and seven boards.
