Women’s Australian Open Betting is Wide Open at SBG Global

March 25th, 2021 Tennis Betting

Australian Open betting on the women’s side should be very exciting with a number of the top women having a chance to win. One quarterfinal matchup has top seed Justine Henin favored in tennis betting odds against Maria Sharapova. Henin and Sharapova have nine Grand Slam titles between them, and last met in the Tour Championships final in Madrid in a match that lasted well over three hours as Henin won as the tennis betting favorite.

Australian Open betting odds have Henin the favorite over Sharpova and the slight Australian Open betting favorite to win the overall event.  Henin has won 33 matches since being beaten in the semi-finals of Wimbledon last year. “I don’t play the same tennis as the other girls. They’re hitting the ball very hard. I just try to use different things. I try to mix it up a little bit more,” said Henin.

Henin will get a lot of competition in Australian Open betting, especially from the Williams’ sisters who are both favored in their matches on the Australian Open betting odds board.  Defending champion Serena Williams takes on the #3 seed Jelena Jankovic and is actually the Australian betting favorite in that match.  Williams has not dropped a set thus far in the tournament while Jankovic has struggled to survive.  “My body’s not that ready,” Jankovic said, “But I have to go through this in order to get stronger and get better.”

In other quarterfinal action Venus Williams takes on #3 Ana Ivanovic.  Although Ivanovic is rated higher, Williams has won all of their four previous matches and is the Australian Open betting favorite in this match.  That may change in the quarterfinals. “Last two grand slams, I lost to her, it’s exactly the time for some revenge,” Ivanovic said. The other quarterfinal match has Agnieszka Radwanska a very slight Australian betting favorite against Daniela Hantuchova.

Australian Open betting on the women’s side has a lot more intrigue and excitement because so many women have a chance to win.  It is unlike the men’s side of the draw where Roger Federer is the overwhelming Australian Open betting favorite.  All of the women’s matches in the quarterfinals have competitive tennis betting odds while the men’s side has some high priced favorites.  That can make women’s tennis betting more attractive to gamblers since they have a chance to find value.  That is definitely the case with Australian betting odds this year.
