A Quick Look At the 2015 Davis Cup After One Round

January 6th, 2020 Tennis Betting

The second round of the 2015 Davis Cup will take place from July 17-19. There are a few interesting stories to take a look at as the second round is ready to come around. These include some stories involving a variety of different sides that pulled off a few upsets as the event started back in March.

Four Big Upsets in Davis Cup

Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Italy and the United States were all seeded teams that were upset in the first round. Great Britain’s upset over the Americans came with Andy Murray leading the side to victory. In fact, all but one of the first round matches were close. Serbia was the only team that won all five of its matches in the first round as Novak Djokovic and the rest of the team swept Croatia to pull off one of the biggest surprises in the event.

What Big Matches Will Come About?

The only match between ranked teams will be the competition between Serbia and Argentina. While Serbia has Djokovic, Argentina will have Carlos Berlocq and Juan Monaco among its top players.

Belgium is expected to be a big competitor in the Cup after pulling off a big upset over Switzerland, the side that won last year’s Davis Cup. However, the side will be taking on Canada in the second round. Milos Raonic and Daniel Nestor are the two big competitors who will be representing the Canadians.

France Is Still On Top in Davis Cup

France is the top-seeded team and will be facing Great Britain in what should be a popular event in this year’s Davis Cup. Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Richard Gasquet will be leading a side that was the runner-up in last year’s Davis Cup and is hoping to get back on top.

Does Kazakhstan Have a Shot?

Kazakhstan has reached the second round of the Davis Cup for the third time in the country’s history. This is a big feat in its own right but the side will be facing a good challenge in Australia. Longtime veteran Lleyton Hewitt is among the people who will be competing for the Australians.
