The college football betting season came to a close in fitting epic fashion. The underdog Ohio State Buckeyes are the new National Champions after an exciting and amazing game where they won 42-20 against the Marcus Mariota and the Oregon Ducks.
Urban Meyer was able to lead this team to another tittle and once more prove he s one of the greatest coaches in Buckeyes history. The narrative of the path this team had has been marked by resiliency and perseverance. Overcoming injuries and obstacles to pull off a fantastic season.
The key to the Buckeyes win was Running Back Ezekiel Elliot who put in work for Ohio State. Running for 246 yards, 36 carries and four touchdowns. Elliot was definitely playing at a high level, as well as Cardale Jones who also was very impressive last night. Mind you, that Jones was making only his third career start last night, and he threw for 242 yards, he also marked 38 rushing yards and produced 2 touchdowns.
College football betting pundits all agree that last night might have been the beginning of the career of a top quarterback. Jones’ is also a fairy tale story as he is the third-string quarterback in this Buckeyes team.
The Ducks, on the other hand, despite the final score, had a good performance by Heisman Trophy winner Marcus Mariota who threw for 333 yards and two touchdowns. During last night’s game he became the first PAC-12 history to reach 5000 yards in a single season. The main reason that could be appointed to the Ducks not wiining the game was the inability of the offense as a whole to capitalize the mistakes the Buckeye’s were making all game long.
