NFL Sportsbooks: Ravens vs. Dolphins

NFL Sportsbooks: Ravens vs. Dolphins. Both the Baltimore Ravens and the Miami Dolphins are coming off from losses on week 4, at Buffalo and at New Orleans respectively. However, the stories of how each team got there differ. Miami had been going strong on a 3-game winning streak until they finally stumbled at the Mercedes Benz Superdome, while the Ravens had already lost their opening game, before winning two at home. If the trend continues then the Dolphins will make good on their status as NFL sportsbooks favorites this Sunday 6. Baltimore has yet to win a single game on the road, and Miami has done well both at home and away.

NFL sportbooks have currently set a -3 point spread favoring the Dolphins. In the grand scheme of things they should be continual favorites, what with them being Super Bowl champions and all. Then again, they were also favorites last week facing the Bills, and we all know how that turned out. On the other hand, the Dolphins haven’t seen the playoffs in four years, including last season which was head coach Joe Philbin’s first with the team. Perhaps this is the season Philbin and the players really start to click, and their 3-1 record so far may vouch for that.

Both Baltimore’s Joe Flacco and Miami’s Ryan Tannehill match up well, and their stats this season are actually very similar. But the pressure must arguably be on the Ravens QB, not only as last Super Bowl’s MVP, but also as one of the highest paid quarterbacks in the league’s history, surpassed only by the Green Bay Packer’s Aaron Rodgers and the Atlanta Falcon’s Matt Ryan. That’s not to say that Tannehill doesn’t have quite a bit to live up to; namely, his franchise-record-setting rookie season. Conversely, though they’re both young, Flacco is the one who has experience on his side. All things considered, both teams have something to prove this Sunday, but according to NFL sportsbooks standings, it’s the Miami Dolphins who are more likely to deliver and clip the Ravens wings as well while they’re at it.
