Arizona Cardinals Survive Against St. Louis Rams

Last night the NFL football betting universe saw the Arizona Cardinals beat the St. Louis Rams in a low scoring game: 12-6. This final result elevates the Cards record to 11-3 and places them in a great position to enter the playoffs. We were tempted to make “go to eleven” joke here, but pretty much everybody else on the internet already did.

The Cardinals deserve all the praise they can get, this is as unlikely as you could imagine, Arizona were not expected to be in this position at this particular time in the season. Their playoff run is very impressive as they have a roster that has had to fend off injury from their starting Quarterback Carson Palmer and still found a way to keep on winning. However their playoff run has had some dramatic turn of events as their back up QB Drew Stanton exited last night’s game with knee injury that prevented him to return. Stanton is expected to get an MRI today to find out if he will be able to return for the remainder of the NFL football betting season.

The focal point for last night’s game was that it was the first game in over two seasons to be played without a touchdown by either team. Cardinals’ kicker Chandler Catanzaro made four field goals that secure the Cardinals win. Also worth mentioning was that it was Arizona’s running game that, while not scoring TDs, did help the team overpower the St. Louis Rams. However, last night might seem like a Pyrrhic victory for the Cardinals.

The Arizona Cardinals have played some effective offense with Palmer and Stanton, and their defense has been providing a great deal of help. They have earned their spot in the NFC. However should Stanton be out for the rest of the season, things will be more and more uphill for these Cards team. NFL football betting odds will likely start to turn against them.
