2010 Golf US Open Presents Many Offshore Wagering Opportunities. The second Major of the 2010 golf betting season is finally here and after a day of the golfing action it looks as though the weekend will be full of terrific offshore wagering opportunities. Sports betting fans know that there is an almost unlimited supply of golf betting odds posted on online wagering companies’ websites and if the big names in the PGA continue to play well Friday and Saturday we could see a spectacular finish to the 2010 US Golf Open on Sunday.

All the biggest names in golf betting have converged on Pebble Beach, one of the recognizable and picturesque golf courses in the world. One of the most difficult as courses as well.  Ten years ago when the US Open betting contest was last held here there was just one player to finish the four days of golf betting action under red.  Not only did he finish under par, but he finished with a record shattering score of -12.

It’s no mystery that that player was world #1 Tiger Woods as he bulldozed his way to a 15 shot victory and turned in probably the best individual performance at a Major in golf betting history.  This year Woods is back to try and rekindle his US Open betting magic from a decade ago, albeit under somewhat different circumstances.  Offshore wagering fans are surely aware of the tumultuous year he’s had off the course, but in Thursday’s opening round he showed shades of the same impressive golfing skill that destroyed the golf betting field a decade ago.

Woods opened up with a starting round of +3 which is 5 strokes off the lead but still within comfortable striking distance of the leaders.  Phil Mickelson also played an average round, nothing spectacular, but nothing disastrous either.  Although Lefty failed to score a birdie all day he finished at +4, just 6 strokes off the golf betting lead.

A group of Shaun Micheel, Paul Casey and Brendon de Jonge share the lead at -2 after the opening round.  Anyone who knows anything about golf betting knows these guys are just a bad hole or two from completely falling apart.  Look for the big names in on the leader to climb up the leader board on Friday and book bets with online wagering companies accordingly.

Pebble Beach has been playing firm and fast and producing high scores, even without the wind.  It’s not going to get any easier through the weekend and so expect the golfing cream to rise to the top.
