The Internet Bookmaker Looks at All-American Team

February 14th, 2022 Online Offshore Bookmaker

The Internet bookmaker is always aware of the best players in college basketball. When the offshore betting line is made the best players are always factored into the line.  The AP All-America team for this past season was announced on Monday and it included a lot of big names.

Internet bookmaker odds this past season were greatly influenced by players like Kentucky’s John Wall and DeMarcus Cousins. Both of them made the AP All-America team. Also on the first team were Ohio State’s Evan Turner, Syracuse’s Wes Johnson and Villanova’s Scottie Reynolds.  None of those teams are still alive though in the NCAA Tournament as each was eliminated.

Turner averaged 20.3 points per game and 9.2 rebounds per game and was a player that the Internet bookmaker always took into consideration when making the line. He is considered the favorite to win National Player of the Year. John Wall averaged 16.9 points and 6.4 assists per game. Wes Johnson averaged 16 points and 8.4 rebounds per game.  Reynolds put up 18.5 points and 3.3 assists per game while Cousins averaged 15.3 points and 10.1 rebounds per game.  Wall and Cousins are the ninth set of teammates to be selected to the team. “This means a lot to both of us. I’m surprised and glad we both made it,” said Wall, “We had to learn a lot as freshmen and we were able to help our teammates along the way. This means a lot to both of us.”

Cousins was the only player on the All-America team who averaged a double-double this season. “It’s important to me but it wasn’t something I was expecting,” Cousins said. “This means a lot because all we really did was try to come in and help our teammates.” Wall and Cousins are expected to go straight to the NBA where they will immediately impact offshore betting odds.  “The challenge of it is to get them to reach beyond where they’ve ever reached in their lives,” Kentucky head coach John Calipari said. “They’re in the best shape conditioning-wise they’ve ever been in. They are playing for the team more than they’ve ever played for a team. Usually it’s been about them. Yet they got to respect each other.”

There were no unanimous selections but Turner was close as he got 64 of the 65 votes.  Wall got 62 votes, while Johnson had 45, Reynolds 32 and Cousins 26. Just how important were some of these players to offshore betting results? Ohio State went .500 without Turner in the lineup but was nearly unstoppable when he came back.
