Bookmaker – Qatar and Russia Chosen over the U.S. for World Cup. The World Cup made news at the bookmaker on Thursday as Qatar and the United States beat out the United States for the 2018 and 2022 World Cup.  The United States was thought to be one of the favorites at the online bookmaker to host the World Cup but they were left out in the cold.  The entire selection process of the World Cup sites is weird but somehow two countries that are not known for soccer will be hosting the biggest event in the world.

Russia in 2018
Russia was able to beat out England and joint bids by Spain-Portugal and Netherlands-Belgium and they will be hosting the 2018 World Cup.

Qatar in 2022
One of the smallest nations in the world will be hosting the World Cup.  Teams will have to deal with overwhelming heat but the FIFA executive committee chose Qatar anyway so look for a lot of air conditioners in 2022. It is simply incredible to gamblers at Sbgglobal that Qatar was chosen to host a World Cup considering their entire nation is smaller than many U.S. cities.

U.S. and England Denied
The United States was rejected in their bid to host the World Cup. They were trying to get a bid and bring the World Cup back to the U.S. for the first time since 1994. It didn’t happen. The U.S. is definitely not given a fair shot by FIFA. To go with Russia and Qatar instead of the United States is simply ridiculous. The U.S. set a record back in 1994 with 3.58 million tickets sold but they have not gotten serious consideration since.  Not only was the United States rejected for 2022, England was left out in 2018. Those at the bookmaker believe that both the United States and England would have been better suited to host the World Cup but neither country is getting the call. Instead it is Russia and Qatar.

Allegations of Corruption
The entire bid process was a mess.  Two of the 24 FIFA executive members were excluded from the vote.  The vote was done in secrecy so no one really knows what happened.  What we do know at the online bookmaker is that two countries that have no real soccer history and poor weather conditions are hosting the biggest sporting event in the world.
