Phoenix Coyotes at Colorado Hockey Betting

NHL betting on Friday includes an excellent Western Conference matchup in Colorado as the Avalanche host the Phoenix Coyotes. Both of these teams have been hockey betting surprises this season and both are looking at making the playoffs.  Here is a look at what should be a very competitive game on Friday between Phoenix and Colorado. NHL betting has seen Phoenix win six of the last ten games against Colorado although the Avalanche took the first meeting between the teams this season by a score of 4-1.  Colorado has struggled a bit against Phoenix at home, losing three of the last five in hockey betting.  The last three meetings between the two teams have gone under the total.

Phoenix has been a good team for bettors this season, both at home and on the road. The Coyotes are not a high profile team so they almost always get a great price.  They are going to be underdogs in hockey betting in this game at Colorado as well even though they have shown the ability to win there.  The Coyotes are a team that wins in NHL betting with defense as they are 8th in the league in fewest goals allowed. Goal scoring can sometimes be a problem for Phoenix in NHL betting games, as they are 22nd in the league with Shane Doan as their leading scorer.

Colorado has very similar NHL betting numbers to Phoenix.  In fact, the teams are very close in the standings. Colorado has been solid at home and above .500 on the road.  Colorado is a better offensive team than Phoenix as they are 9th in the league as hockey betting stats indicated. They are just behind the Coyotes on defense as they rank 8th.  How Phoenix is ahead of the Avalanche in NHL betting is somewhat of a mystery.  Part of the reason could be that Milan Hejduk is injured and he is a key player for Colorado. Paul Stastny is leading the team in scoring with Hejduk out of the lineup.  The plus/minus leader for Colorado is Wojtek Wolski.  The Avalanche has Craig Anderson in goal and he is approaching 30 wins on the hockey betting season while backup Peter Budaj has a goals against average just over 2.20.

This should be an excellent NHL betting matchup on Friday between two teams looking to make the playoffs in the Western Conference.
