Hockey Betting on Edmonton vs. Los Angeles

Hockey betting favors Los Angeles as they host the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday.

It is not a good spot at all for Edmonton in NHL betting as they are in the last game of a five-game road trip and they are in a back-to-back having played last night in Anaheim.

Hockey betting would have favored Los Angeles even with the tough situation for Edmonton.  The Oilers have been terrible this season while the Kings have been one of the best teams in the league over the past month.  Los Angeles has also won six of the last ten against Edmonton in this hockey betting series. The teams have met twice this season and the Kings won both games, 3-2 in Edmonton and 3-1 at Los Angeles in hockey betting.  The last four games in this series have gone under the NHL betting total.

In hockey betting you always want to consider the positives for both teams. With Edmonton there just aren’t very many. In fact, there may not be any in this game. The Oilers are the worst team in the NHL. They have struggled at home and on the road. They have one of the worst offenses in the NHL and one of the worst defenses.  The Oilers did break their long NHL betting losing streak earlier this month but that success was at home and it was only for two games before the losing started again.

The Kings have simply been great the past month or so in hockey betting.  If not for the huge winning streak by the Capitals, the Kings would be the talk of the league.  Los Angeles is even giving San Jose a run for the top spot in the Western Conference.  The Kings have been very good at home this season as they are 17-9-2 on home ice in NHL betting. The Kings have moved up to #7 in the league on offense while their defense is 14th. Jonathan Quick continues to improve in goal and Anze Kopitar is turning into a star.  There is a lot to like about the Kings in hockey betting in this game.  The only concern for Los Angeles would be that they overlook the Oilers since Edmonton is such a bad team.  The Kings have had two days off though so that should not be too much of an issue in this hockey betting matchup.
