Detroit Red Wings at Pittsburgh Hockey Bet

Hockey bet has a Stanley Cup Final rematch on Sunday as the Pittsburgh Penguins host the Detroit Red Wings in a game that can be seen on NBC television. The two teams have met to decide the Stanley Cup the past two seasons with the Red Wings winning two years ago while the Penguins were the hockey betting winners last year.

Hockey bet has the Penguins favored in this game on Sunday since they are at home. The Red Wings have not been as good this season and they are not even a guarantee to make the playoffs. The Penguins have been solid again this season and have a potent offense led by Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin.

It has been busy for Detroit Red Wings this week as they were losers against the Kings last Sunday while they had games against Phoenix, Minnesota and Nashville this week. The NHL is squeezing games into the schedule in advance of the Olympic break next month. The Red Wings simply haven’t scored enough goals to win consistently this season for those making a hockey bet. 28th in the league in goals scored is simply not going to get it done.  The Red Wings are 8th on defense but with poor goal scoring numbers they would need to be first to make up for it.

The Red Wings and Penguins have not met since the Stanley Cup Finals last season. The Penguins won the clincher in Detroit 2-1.  They also won 2-1 in Pittsburgh in Game 6.  The last three games of that series went under the hockey betting total. The last time the two teams met in the regular season was almost one year ago as Detroit won 3-0 at Pittsburgh.

It has been somewhat risky to take Detroit this season when making a hockey bet. They are overvalued at home and on the road they are below. 500.  Pittsburgh has been a better hockey bet as they have a winning record at home but they are oftentimes overpriced and they are not an automatic hockey betting winner at home as they were late last season.

Looking at the hockey bet total we find that Detroit has been a team to bet under this season. They go under more at home in hockey betting but they also go under on the road, just not to the same extent.  Pittsburgh has also been a team to take under the hockey bet total, which might come as a surprise considering Pittsburgh’s offensive talent.
