BlackhawkS Down Canucks Stanley Cup Hopes

Chicago Blackhawks have something to cheer about after their team terminated any Stanley Cup betting hopes in Vancouver for the second straight year.

Game 6 of this up and down NHL playoff betting series came to a rather abrupt close on Tuesday night when the Hawks slammed the door on the Canucks in a 5-1 whipping to advance to the Western Conference Finals to face the #1 seed San Jose Sharks.

Based on the yo-yo fashion of the series of the hockey betting series up to that point it seemed almost a given that this Stanley Cup betting series would be pushed to a Game 7; especially with Game 6 being played in Vancouver with a raucous crowd cheering on the Canucks.

But the Blackhawks had other ideas and came out of the gates with their sticks blazing in this Stanley Cup odds conference semifinal matchup.  Right from the drop of the opening puck Chicago established itself as the team on the offensive and kept Vancouver goalie Roberto Luongo under fire for the entire NHL playoff betting contest.

The Olympic gold medal winner was fantastic through the first period making amazing save after amazing save but the Hawks were relentless and by the end of the second period in this hockey betting match up had all but won the game.

Troy Brouwer opened the scoring for Chicago in this Stanley Cup betting playoff match and from that point the slaughter was on.  The Hawks were relentless and it was clear once the third period began that the Canucks would be eliminated from the Stanley Cup odds competition.

Vancouver simply couldn’t get anything going on offense and the Chicago attack was relentless.  Luongo made 30 saves in this hockey betting matchup, many of them quite impressive, but his defense left him on an island he allowed 5 goals in the final two periods of this Stanley Cup betting playoff matchup.

The Blackhawks prize for knocking the Canucks out of the Stanley Cup betting competition is a Western Conference Finals date against the top-seeded San Jose Sharks.  Not much to look forward to in terms of NHL playoff betting competition but the Hawks are playing well and should be able to still at least one game on the Sharks ice before the NHL betting series heads to Chicago.  The Sharks haven’t played in a week and will no doubt be rusty and that’s an advantage that the Sharks will surely capitalize on in the upcoming NHL playoff betting series.
