Tennessee’s Early Schedule helps them vs. NFL Betting Odds

The Tennessee Titans finished last season red-hot vs. the NFL betting odds and they may be able to carry that momentum into the 2010 season. The Titans have a favorable early season schedule that could help them win vs. the NFL odds.

NFL betting odds list the Titans as 6.5 point home favorites in Week 1 of the regular season as they host the Oakland Raiders. The Titans should win that game and they are very capable of winning in Week 2 as they host a Pittsburgh Steelers team that will be without starting quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.  The Titans will not have an easy game in Week 3 at the New York Giants but they are capable of winning in New York.  The Titans should win in Week 4 as they host the Denver Broncos.

The Titans need to start fast because they have to go to Dallas in Week 5 followed by a Monday Night game in Jacksonville in Week 6. They then host the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 7 and go to San Diego in Week 8.  The bye comes at a good time for the Titans in Week 9.

Tennessee comes out of their bye and goes to Miami in Week 10.  They then host the Washington Redskins in Week 11 before going to Houston in Week 12. They start a three-game home stand in Week 13 as they host Jacksonville. They have a short week in Week 14 as they host the Indianapolis Colts on Thursday in Week 14. They will get extra rest though before the Houston Texans visit in Week 15. The Titans finish up on the road with games at Kansas City and Indianapolis in Weeks 16 and 17 in NFL odds.

The Titans are one of those teams that are very difficult for bettors to figure out.  Just two seasons ago they were the best team in the AFC but last year they started out 0-6. They recovered to finish 8-8 as they went 6-2 down the stretch.  It is really hard to figure out exactly what Tennessee is going to do in 2010 vs. the NFL betting odds. They do get a favorable start to the season and they will need to take advantage as the road gets tougher as the season progresses.
