NFL Betting – Philadelphia at San Diego

NFL betting should be exciting on Sunday as two 5-3 teams matchup in San Diego as the Chargers host the Philadelphia Eagles. The pro football betting odds are predicting a close game as the Chargers are 1-point favorites with a total of 47. NFL betting has seen the Chargers win three straight to get within a game of Denver in the AFC West.  On the other side, the Eagles fell to Dallas last week and now trail in the NFC East.

San Diego is coming off a big win last week against the New York Giants in NFL betting as Philip Rivers rallied the team to a 21-20 win. He hit Vincent Jackson for the game winning TD with 21 seconds remaining. “I think it will carry over into this week, something we can build on as we prepare for another really tough NFC East opponent,” said Rivers. The Chargers have been winning in NFL betting thanks to their passing attack. The rushing game is non-existent as they average a league-low 3.1 yards per carry.

Philadelphia is coming off a pro football betting loss last week to Dallas that has them looking up at the Cowboys in the division. The Eagles will look to get back Brian Westbrook this week after he missed the last two games. His return could be important in NFL betting since San Diego is 26th in the league against the run.

When Philadelphia wins in NFL betting, they win by a lot.  Their five wins this season are by an average of 20 points per game. They are just 1-8-1 in their last 10 games decided by seven points or less. San Diego is just the opposite in NFL betting as they have won five of their last six games decided by eight points or less.

Philadelphia has been known as a great road team in NFL betting the past few years. The Eagles are 14-6 in pro football betting in their last 20 road games.  The Chargers have been a poor favorite in NFL betting. The Chargers are 4-9 ATS in their last 13 games as an NFL betting favorite.

The pro football betting stats for the total show that seven of the last nine Philadelphia games have gone over.  On the other side, seven of the last eleven San Diego home games have gone under in NFL betting.
